This multipack is not like anything we’ve released in the past. This release isn’t just a tester pack — it’s a collaborative breeding project that we want you to be a part of.

We’re excited to present this opportunity for our growers to actively participate in the earliest and most crucial phase of our strain development process. This Pheno Hunt Pack is a targeted evaluation project that we’re hoping will help to identify, document, and select important phenotypic expressions from four curated autoflower tester crosses. Each pack includes six seeds of each cross (24 seeds total), offering a statistically relevant sampling size for assessing diversity of both desirable and undesirable traits within each seed batch.

Each pack will ship with an official Speedrun Seeds Pheno Hunting Guide, complete with an Environmental Log Book to help you record vital data throughout about your specific growing conditions. As a participant, you’ll be asked to:

  • Post photos and take measurements at specific growth intervals

  • Log your unique environmental conditions and nutrient inputs

  • Record data on vegetative selection traits, like vigor, plant morphology and structure, nutrient tolerance, stress resistance, inter-nodal spacing, and more.

  • Document information on flowering selection traits like aroma, trichome development throughout flower, bud structure, flowering duration, pest and pathogen resistance, flavor, effects and much more!

  • Provide your final evaluation and overall thoughts about each tester strain.

The information you provide will:

  • Help us identify important, desirable, or rare traits that occur in each of the four tester crosses.

  • Enable us to outline the number of phenotypes expressed by each cross, and identify how frequently they occur.
  • Pinpoint standout expressions that we’ll want to capture and stabilize.

  • Provide the information we need to select which crosses will be advanced to the next filial generation, and which might benefit from being paired with our more stable lines.
  • Guide which testers we’ll incorporate into breeding program first.
  • Set realistic expectations, and create strain specific breeding criteria for traits like plant structure, nutrient tolerance, terpene intensity and quality, yield, seed to harvest time, etc.

 

The data collected from this trial will directly inform our approach to stabilization and genetic pairing for each of the included testers. By analyzing phenotype data, patterns in environmental influence, resistance or susceptibility to environmental stressors, nutrient tolerance and other traits, we will be better able to:

  • Identify reproducible, desirable traits for future filial generations

  • Determine which genetics are most promising for forward selection and line development

  • Establish baseline expectations for phenotype expressions under varied environmental conditions

Our goal is to approach stabilization not just through intuition or anecdotal selection, but through a collaborative, data-driven process which will allow us to closely involve our community of excellent growers.
